I chose the topic of my favorite places because I really enjoy remembering these places that I’ve been too and the people that I went with. The initial idea for these posts were less about the people and more about just the places but, I realized that being with my friends, too, made the experiences and places that I saw much more enjoyable.

Behind the Scenes

Lyrics taken from Back to the Old by Matisyahu

For this post here, we were enjoying a sunset in Santorini and, I was just really taking in the moment when this song just popped in my head. To me, this song really is about just being in the moment and taking everything in and enjoying everything and everyone. It’s very straightforward. So, I thought why not throw these lyrics on this photo and make a graphic out of it. I actually took this photo on my Google Pixel 3a and the blurred background just sort of happened. No filters at all. I added in the text using Adobe Spark Post.

Disneyland Paris

This photo was the idea of my friend (one on the right) and I thought it was a good idea. So, we had someone else take a picture. I’m not sure why we had me as Captain America but, hey, it just happened. Didn’t really add much in post at all.

Eiffel Tower

As I was walking through Paris, I just saw this amazing framing opportunity and just snapped the photo right then and there and it came out amazingly. I did a little of post-processing but, nothing too heavy. This is by far one of my favorite photos that I’ve ever taken.

Post Captions

For the captions on my posts, I wanted to keep short and sweet. Basically, I just wanted to make it as minimal because I really wanted some of the photos to speak for themselves. Some of the other ones, I really wanted to make sure I explained what was going on and who I was with.

Lessons Learned

Definitely do some more testing. I’m going to be honest here and say that I didn’t really do too much testing. I wish that I did so I could have had a better idea of things would look like.

Time lapses are really hard to capture well. I really do envy people who do have really good ones. I’m definitely going to practice some more.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I liked this project. Not as much as I enjoyed the Podcast but, this one was still pretty cool. My favorite part was definitely remembering my favorite places to be and where I’ve been and where I want to go again.
